The Indian stock market will have 14 holidays in 2025, according to the holiday schedule published by the NSE, BSE

India’s stock exchanges have declared 14 trading holidays in 2025. According to the calendar released by the BSE and the National Stock Exchange, there will be two holidays in March and August, and one each in February, May, November, and December. April and October will have three trading holidays. These include national holidays like Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day and significant religious celebrations like Christmas, Diwali, and Eid.
These declared holidays are in addition to the regular closures on the weekends and public holidays falling either on Saturday or Sunday.
A special trading session has been scheduled for Saturday, February 1, a day when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for 2025-26.

– Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Dussehra: Thursday, October 2, 2025

– Diwali Balipratipada: Wednesday, October 22, 2025
– Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev: Wednesday, November 5, 2025

Since four gazetted holidays fall on either a Saturday or a Sunday, the current holiday calendar only has 14 non-trading days. Check the full list of stock market holidays falling on weekends:

However, it must be noted that the BSE and NSE may close the market on days other than the above-scheduled holidays or may open the market on days originally declared as holidays.
