‘Titanic’ movie is based on the 1912s heart wrenching incident

Titanic movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, which came out in 1997 turned out to be one of the most impactful films of the time.

The film was based on an original incident that took place in 1912, where a big luxury passenger liner, RMS Titanic, sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding with an iceberg, resulting in the deaths of more than 1500 passengers.

However, the ship was considered ‘unsinkable’ as it consisted of 16 watertight sections. But unfortunately, the collision with iceberg damaged five compartments and caused the big vessel to sink.

The film, directed by James Cameron, tried to capture the reality as much as possible.

There are a lot of iconic collectables from the set, which are worthy enough to be auctioned.

Currently, the souvenir that has been put up for auction is the violin used in the climax scene of the film, where Wallace Hartley and his seven band members play some background music as the ship goes down.

The violin is going up for sale at Henry Aldridge & Son, of Devizes, Wiltshire, who shared, “Having sold the original violin that was played by Wallace Hartley when the Titanic sank on April 15th 1912 in 2013 for £1.1 million (€1.2 million).”

“We are delighted to offer the violin that was played in James Cameron’s movie for auction, one of the highest grossing movies of all time.”
